The Government of Anambra State has intensified its campaign on youth reformation, as an important step towards a transformed Anambra State. The Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, had committed to ensuring the emergence of “a new onye Anambra” in his manifesto. In line with this, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, on Friday convened a meeting of the leadership of various youth groups, advocacy groups and youth stakeholders to form a think-tank and run with the Governor’s vision of a new onye Anambra, who is a symbol of self-awareness, dignified and patriotic.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Omenugha said that the import of the gathering was to “arrive at deliverables,” and strategize on meeting the mandate of the Governor on youth reformation in Anambra State.
During the meeting, various speakers agreed that it is only a reformed Anambra youth who can take ownership of his community and contribute his fair share towards transforming Anambra State. Leadership of the Anambra youth association and the leadership of youth groups in different religious organizations were present. Civil society and advocacy groups in Anambra State were also represented. Meanwhile, select youth stakeholders were equally in attendance, including the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Anambra State.
After hours of fruitful discussions, Mr. Emma Obieze was picked by the Special Adviser, Dr. Omenugha, to chair the steering committee set up, and mandated to revert in a matter of days.
The Anambra State Government under Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is seriously committed to rebuilding the value system of Anambra youths, as a vital step in sustaining his government’s giant strides.
