A Magistrate’s Court sitting at Nteje, Anambra State, presided over by C.C. Chigbo, on Wednesday, remanded a 28-year-old man, Raphael Ozoemena, in prison for allegedly stabbing his friend, Ejike Eduno, to death.
CSP A. A Nwanso, the police prosecution counsel, told the court that Eduno was stabbed in the chest at Nkwelle-Ezunaka on Saturday, October 1, 2022. This caused Eduno’s death.
Nwanso stated that the offense was punishable by Section 274 (1) under the Criminal Code, Cap. 36, Vol. 36, Vol.
The defense counsel, Pere Oseme, prayed the court to grant his client bail.
The presiding Magistrate, Chigbo, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Onitsha Custodial Centre and adjourned the matter till January 18, 2023.
