Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos State has sentenced a kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as “Evans” alongside a fellow defendant, Victor Aduba to a jail term of twenty one (21) years, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

The two convicts were accused of kidnapping Sylvanus Haifa on 23rd June 2014 at Amuwo Odofin area in Lagos and further demanding a ransom of Two Million Dollars ($2m).

Meanwhile, this recent jail term of 21 years is the second sentence made against him as Justice Hakeem Oshodi had earlier sentenced him alongside two others to life imprisonment for kidnapping Mr. Donatus Dunu, the Managing Director of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Limited.

Justice Hakeem further stated that during the conviction, Evans never expressed any sign of remorse as he tried to deny all the charges against him despite a video evidence. The Justice said:

” He was seen freely laughing and willingly answering questions. A close look at his body show no sign of torture and he was not looking unkempt. He even laughed when he was told that he must be a rich kidnapper”.
