Anambra- born Gabe Okoye has won election into George State House of Representative District 102, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. He acknowledged the victory in a post on Facebook. Okoye also asked for divine wisdom to deliver on expectations.
“A very special thank you to the voters of HD – 102 for electing me to represent you at the Capitol. I hope to make you proud. Please pray for wisdom for me.”
“I also thank all my campaign workers. Through the grace of God all your hard work has paid off. Having given all glory to God, my sleeves are rolled up, and I am ready to go to work for you.”
Okoye, a Democrat hails from Enugwu-Aguleri in Anambra. He was a Planning Commissioner in Gwinnett County, the second-most populous local government in Georgia, and is the first black man to serve as a commissioner in the county’s 202-year history.
The civil engineer and founder of Georgia-based construction firm, Essex Geoscience, also currently serves on the Executive Committee Board of the Gwinnett and state chapters of the Democratic Party.
