Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra state has assured the corps members in the state of prompt response to any distress call during their one year stay in the state.
State Commandant, Comdt. Maku Olatunde gave the assurance while paying unscheduled visit to the ongoing 2024 Batch B Stream one Orientation Camp at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South LGA.
He advised them to remain vigilant and to report any security threats and suspicious characters to the NSCDC.
“I’m here to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the camp to identify potential vulnerabilities for security enhancement.
“The visit is a demonstration of the NSCDC’s proactive approach to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure,” he added.
Maku promised to liaise with other security agencies to ensure that they collectively protect corps members and their property.
Responding, NYSC Coordinator appreciated the NSCDC boss for the visit, describing it as a morale booster.
She expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen the relationship between the two federal establishments, promising close work with the NSCDC to ensure hitch-free orientation exercise.
