Mother, baby, two others feared dead as flood wreck havoc in Nnewi

Four persons, including a woman and her child were on Thursday reportedly swept away by flood in Nnewi, Nnewi north Local Government Area of Anambra state.

The incident, according to sources, occurred at various locations in the industrial community.

Two persons were reportedly swept away in Nnewichi, along Nnobi and Nnewi-Onitsha roads, respectively.

The woman and her child were said to be returning from church when they met their sudden death.

Reacting, President-General of Nzuko-Ora (Nnewi Town Union), Dr Maduka Atuenyi said he heard the rumour of the incident, but said he was yet to confirm it.

“The rumour of the incident is everywhere but I’m yet to confirm it,” he said.
