A tricycle operator has been shot dead by suspected cultists in Ifite, Awka in Anambra State.
The deceased, a native of Kogi State was said to be shot dead Sunday morning in his bedroom.
A source close to the deceased said the deceased had, the previous day traced a youth riding his Keke for him, without remitting money and seized it.
“The cultists stormed his house in Ifite area of Awka on Sunday morning. His brother who accosted the gunmen as they entered the compound was ignored as he tried to inquire about their mission.
“They moved straight into his room and shot him severally while still in his bed. They shattered his brain and left without any confrontation.
“Some of our brothers said that just on Saturday, a day before his death, he traced a youth who was riding his Keke for him, without remitting money and seized it.
“Immediately after the incident, the brothers quickly chattered a vehicle to take him to his state.
“I can tell you that by now, they have already buried him as his religion stipulates,” narrated the source who claimed to hail from same state.
Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
