Police in Anambra State have arrested three suspected car snatchers at Kwata junction, Awka, the state capital.
Command spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement said the suspects, Ifesinachi Okonwko (22), Chisom Okafor (20) and Oderah Ebenezer (20) belong to the same criminal gang terrorizing innocent citizens in Awka.
He said the suspects, arrested by Operatives of the Special Anit Cultism Squad Enugwu Ukwu while on patrol confessed stealing the car at Isuaniocha Village, Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
He urged anyone looking for such vehicle, especially residents of Isuaniocha to come to his office with valid Proof/Evidence of Ownership for verification and possible collection.
He saus, “Operatives of the Special Anit Cultism Squad Enugwu Ukwu while on patrol in the morning of 15th January 2025 intercepted three Occupants of a black-coloured Lexus 330 SUV without a plate number at Kwata junction, Awka.
“During interrogation by the Operatives, the suspects Ifesinachi Okonwko ‘M’ aged 22 years, Chisom Okafor ‘M’ aged 20 years and Oderah Ebenezer ‘M’ aged 20 years respectively confessed to having stolen the car at Isuaniocha Village, Awka North and are members of the same criminal gang terrorizing innocent citizens in Awka.
“Given the above, the Command invites anyone looking for the vehicle as highlighted above, especially residents of Isuaniocha to come to the office of the Police Public Relations Officer Awka with valid Proof/Evidence of Ownership for verification and possible collection.”
