As a way to enhance the mental fitness and operational effectiveness of community security operatives in Anambra State, including members of Agunechemba (Udo Ga Achi) and the Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) organizational leadership has mandated compulsory drug screening for all personnel.

The screening will serve as a key criterion for determining eligibility for future retraining and continued engagement.

According to reliable sources, operatives are expected to align strictly with Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s strategic security objectives, and adhere to a professional code of conduct.

As part of the new directive, personnel have been instructed to formally renounce any affiliation with cult groups. Non-compliance, sources confirmed, will result in immediate dismissal.

The directive reportedly stems from resolutions reached during a recent Town Hall meeting held at the Old Government House in Awka, which brought together all local security operatives.

Discussions focused on refining operational protocols—particularly in light of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Emphasizing the need to uphold integrity and restore public trust in both agencies, it was further gathered that the Governor’s Special Assistant on Community Security, Chief Ken Emeakayi, has instructed that the policy be implemented promptly and rigorously.

In line with this development, unit commanders have been held directly accountable for the enforcement of the directive within their respective units.

Moreover, all operatives have been reminded to uphold human dignity at all times, with a stern warning that any breach of the organization’s code of conduct will attract appropriate disciplinary measures.
