The Anambra State Police Command have arrested 45-year-old Okwuchukwu Ezimuo in connection with the death of his relative, 65-year-old Joseph Dike, following an alleged family land dispute in Awka-Etiti.

Police reports indicate that the incident occurred on the evening of September 22, 2025, in Umunocha Village, Awka-Etiti. The suspect allegedly struck the victim on the chest during an argument, causing Dike to collapse immediately. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Operatives from the Nnobi Divisional Headquarters visited the scene, collected evidence, and documented the incident, including photographs.

Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, urged residents to seek peaceful resolution to disputes and avoid violence at all times. He directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a thorough investigation to unravel the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation.
