Speaking after the election which held at Umuegbu Civic Center, NGO Nnobi, an Observer, Chairman, NGO Nnobi Development Union, Hon Oluchukwu Ilogbenu flanked by his Secretary, Comrade Chinonso Enwelum and the Chairman Umuikechem Ndam Ngo Nnobi, Solomon Ochiagha commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct during the election thanking the Electoral Committee appointed by the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for their transparency.

“I appreciate all of us and the Anambra State Government for setting up this Electoral Committee led by Hon Ngozi Agudosi, Comrade Nnamdi Nweke (Secretary) and Comrade Obidi Onwuasoeze to pilot this Electoral process. I appreciate everyone of you for coming out en masse and for conducting yourself in a peaceful manner.

“The election has been conducted in a free, fair and credible process. From our observation, the process was very peaceful and a new, President General Elect of NWO has emerged in the person of Chief Sir Alloy Olubialu. I congratulate all of us, this winning is for all of us.

“We are going to tell others that Nnobi can do things with one mind. I am so happy to hear the PG Elect saying that his administration will be all inclusive and that his doors are open to constructive support and contributions.

“Our future starts here. We are going to feature a new spirit in this community.I believe that Nnobi is going to progress more henceforth and we are going to witness a peaceful atmosphere under the new administration,” said Ilogbenu.

Earlier in his acceptance speech, Chief Sir Aloysius Olubialu thanked the electorate for voting him into power to pilot the affairs of Nnobi people as the PG, NWO for the next four years saying that he would not take it for granted.

“I am so elated today. I am ready to work for my community, Nnobi. I cannot be contributing to the success and development of other communities alone without accepting to contribute my quota to the development of my hometown.

“For entrusting this work into my hand, I will not disappoint Nnobi Community. I am ready to cooperate with anyone and accept any advice that will move Nnobi forward. I will ensure that Nnobi becomes united as a community of people with one mind, body and spirit. I will sacrifice anything within my reach to restore peace in Nnobi ananso/ Holy land.

“Do not congratulate me now, congratulate me when you see developmental projects springing up at different places in our great community, then I can accept your congratulations.

“I plead for your continued collective support because I cannot do it alone. Let the grieving sheathe his sword let us come together and broker peace. We shall make sure that all litigations in court are withdrawn. We are brothers, we can solve our problems inhouse as brothers.

Earlier in his remarks, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Hon Ngozi Agudosi noted that it was the turn of NGO Nnobi Quarters to elect the PG of NWO – the Town Union body of Nnobi Community saying that up till the election day nobody submitted a letter of protest or disapproval but was surprised that some people left during the accreditation without provocation or waiting to say why they will not participate in the election.

“Up until yesterday when both Umuezeme community and Umuikechem community submitted their final list of delegates numbering 28 persons each, there was no official letter of petition written to the Electoral Committee concerning any form of grievances as stipulated by the election code of conduct. Infact, almost all the delegates and contestants from Umuezeme were here this morning during accreditation. They neither came up into the hall upstairs where the election took place to participate nor did they come up to say their mind before walking out of the venue. Infact, I thought they were sorting out some personal matters unknown to us or making some consultations until the election was concluded without them anywhere in sight now,” said Agudosi.
