Anambra Lawmaker Rolls Out Empowerment Programme, Set to Train 50 Youths.

The member representing Onitsha North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mrs Mimi Azikiwe, has rolled out a major youth empowerment programme aimed at restoring the dignity of young people in her constituency.

 

Honourable Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe, who represents Onitsha North 1 Constituency, has introduced the Onitsha North 1 Work and Train Initiative. The programme is designed to equip 50 unemployed but willing-to-learn youths with practical skills and genuine opportunities for self-reliance.

 

Under the initiative, selected participants will undergo a one-year intensive training in various skill areas. In addition to the training, each beneficiary will receive a monthly stipend of one hundred and fifty thousand naira throughout the duration of the programme.

According to the announcement, eligibility criteria are clear and strict.

 

Applicants must be from or resident in Onitsha North 1 Constituency. They must be registered voters, not above thirty years of age, and must have completed higher education with graduation not later than 2022.

 

All interested youths are advised to submit their applications to workandtraininitiative@gmail.com or via WhatsApp to 07083686476. The deadline for submission is the 20th of April.

 

The Director of Media and Communications to the Honourable Member, Nnamudimma Wenga Ikwuazom, signed the statement.

 

This initiative according to her constituents is a practical step towards addressing youth unemployment and promoting skill acquisition in the area.
