As a way to honour their late father, two Anambra State indigenes residing in the United States—Julius Ezeani Asokwu Sea Jr., a chartered accountant, and Nexus Uzoma Asokwu Sea, a renowned legal practitioner—have donated over ₦10 million and six motorcycles to the Ifitedunu Vigilante Security Outfit in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The generous donation, which also includes ₦2 million dedicated to fueling and maintaining the motorcycles for several months, honors the memory of their father, Dr. Julius Asokwu Sea, affectionately known as Onowu New Jersey.

At a presentation ceremony held at Ifitedunu Town Hall, the donors’ uncle, Dr. Francis Asokwu Sea, described the donation as a fitting tribute to a man who exemplified humility, leadership, empathy, and devoted service to his community.

In addition to the security support, the brothers distributed ₦50,000 each to 50 elderly residents aged 70 and above, gave cash gifts to participants of a local football tournament, and provided further assistance to farmers and traders in the area.

Speaking on behalf of their family, the donors said, “This contribution is more than just a gift; it is a tribute to our late father. Though a decade has passed since his passing, his spirit of generosity continues to inspire our commitment to our hometown and community.”

They added that the donation would strengthen local security by enabling prompt responses to emergencies and distress calls.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, Prof. Stephen Ufoaroh, President General of the Ifitedunu Town Union, expressed profound gratitude and reaffirmed the community’s dedication to development.

“This gesture aligns perfectly with our vision of a greater Ifitedunu, where our sons and daughters across the globe unite to uplift our community,” he said.

The brothers also acknowledged key contributors to the initiative, thanking their aunt, Mrs. Justina Uche Onwubuya and her family for a ₦1 million donation, and another aunt, Winifred Emenaka, who contributed ₦500,000. Combined with the brothers’ ₦500,000 contribution, these funds formed the ₦2 million set aside for motorcycle fueling and maintenance.

They expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Victor Igwegbe, village chairmen, and other dignitaries who honored the event with their presence. Special recognition was also given to Ambassador Ike Onyegbu, Chairman of Umuanugo Village, for his exceptional coordination of the occasion.

In appreciation of their remarkable contributions to community development, the brothers were recently bestowed chieftaincy titles by HRH Igwe Dr. Emeka Ilouno, Ezedunu of Ifitedunu.

Julius Ezeani Sea, co-founder of Silicon Africa and financial technology strategist, received the title Ajie Ifitedunu.

Nexus Uzoma Sea, partner at the prestigious law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP and founder of Naija We Can, was honored with the title Onwa N’etili Ora Ifitedunu.

The brothers reaffirmed their dedication to sustainable development and grassroots empowerment, emphasizing that their late father’s legacy continues to inspire their mission to give back to their community.
